by Grandma

 You walk like a Penguin
my granddaughter says.
Well you would too I reply
if you'd worn my shoes.
These feet have travelled many miles.
They once were small and agile
and could run as fast as the wind.
Then slim and sexy in a pair of stilettos.
Runners I wore to chase after your dad.
No hopping in cars to drive hither and dither
I walked to streetcars buses and subways
groceries came home in that same fluid motion.
So you see these feet have traveled far
but they still have enough strength
To Chase After You.
